Overview

Vitturi Castle is a 15th-century fortified coastal structure in Kaštel Lukšić, near Split. Built for defense during Venetian rule, it features intact stone walls, an inner courtyard, and sea-facing ramparts. Travelers visit to see Renaissance military architecture and the historic Kaštela coastline.

Getting There

The site is about 15 kilometers northwest of Split city centre. Driving or taking a taxi takes 25 to 30 minutes. Local buses running between Split and Trogir reach Kaštel Lukšić in roughly 35 to 45 minutes, followed by a short walk to the waterfront. Split Airport (SPU) is also located nearby.

Visiting Time

Allow 45 to 60 minutes to view the courtyard, inspect the perimeter walls, and explore the immediate shore.

When to Visit

Morning and late afternoon are best to avoid midday sun. The area sees moderate visitor numbers in summer but avoids the heavy crowds of central Split. Spring and autumn provide milder temperatures and quieter visits.
