Getting around Tetovo relies on walking, taxis, and local buses. The core along the Pena River is compact, making walking the best way to reach central landmarks, university sites, and markets. Taxis are the primary motorized option for reaching higher elevations toward the Šar Mountains, carrying heavy luggage, or traveling late at night. Municipal buses run along primary avenues, connecting the central bus station with university campuses and outer districts.
