Overview

Prinsenhof is a historical museum set within a former monastery. It is the site where William of Orange resided from 1572 until his assassination in 1584, offering visitors a direct look into the Dutch struggle for independence and period art.

Getting There

From the city centre, the museum is accessible on foot in roughly 5 to 10 minutes. If travelling by public transit from main regional transit hubs, local connections and walking take approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Time to Spend

Plan to spend between 1.5 and 2 hours to view the permanent collection, historical chambers, and informational displays at a comfortable pace.

When to Go

Weekday mornings generally offer the quietest experience. Midday hours and weekends draw higher foot traffic, particularly during peak summer months. Arriving early helps avoid congestion in smaller exhibition rooms.
