Overview

The Vermeer Centre is an exhibition space dedicated to the life, technique, and 17th-century context of painter Johannes Vermeer and his contemporaries. Rather than housing original paintings, it displays full-scale reproductions of his complete works in chronological order alongside exhibits exploring his use of light, pigments, and optical tools.

Getting There

Located along the Voldersgracht canal, the site is a 10-minute walk from the central train station. From central The Hague, regional trains reach the area in approximately 15 minutes.

Visiting Time

Plan to spend 1 to 1.5 hours to view the chronological gallery, interactive displays, and documentary films.

When to Go

Weekday mornings and late afternoons are generally quieter. The exhibition rooms are compact, so expect crowds during midday hours on weekends and during the summer high season.
