Tomb of Süleyman Pasha

This site marks the former location of the tomb of Süleyman Bargjini, an Albanian general of the Ottoman Empire. The original structure and an adjacent mosque were destroyed in 1944. Today, the site is occupied by a monument to the Unknown Soldier. Visitors go here to see the memorial and learn about the layers of Tirana's political and military history.
