Tirana Clock Tower
Overview
The Tirana Clock Tower is a historic stone landmark dating from the Ottoman era, located in central Tirana. Travellers visit to examine one of the city's oldest remaining historical structures and to view Skanderbeg Square from an elevated vantage point.
Getting There
The tower stands directly in the city centre on the eastern edge of Skanderbeg Square. Reaching it on foot from anywhere around the central plaza takes roughly one to two minutes, requiring no public transportation if you are already downtown.
Visiting Time
Allow approximately 20 to 30 minutes for a visit. This provides adequate time to see the exterior, climb the interior staircase, and look out across the plaza from the top platform.
When to Go
Morning or late afternoon is the best time to visit to avoid the peak heat during summer and to experience better lighting across the plaza. The area around the base sees heavier foot traffic during the middle of the day.
