Little Italy

Located along College Street, this commercial district is characterized by a high concentration of Italian restaurants, cafes, and specialty shops. While primarily known for its Italian heritage, the area also includes businesses and eateries from Latin American and Portuguese communities. Travelers visit this neighborhood to experience a diverse range of Mediterranean and Latin food and to walk through a traditional urban shopping strip.

Getting There

The neighborhood is accessible from downtown Toronto via the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Taking the 506 College streetcar is the most direct method. Depending on your starting point in the city centre, the trip typically takes 15 to 25 minutes.

Time Allocation

Allow 2 to 4 hours to explore the main stretch of College Street. This provides enough time for a meal and a walk through the local shops.

When to Visit

The area is most active during dinner hours and on weekends, which is when it becomes crowded. Summer is a popular season as many establishments utilize sidewalk patios. To avoid the largest crowds, visit during weekday afternoons.

Nearby Attractions

  • Kensington Market (1km)
