Rosedale
Overview
Rosedale is a historic residential neighbourhood located north of downtown Toronto. Named after the wild roses that once grew across the area, it features heritage architecture and quiet, tree-lined streets. Travellers visit primarily for self-guided walking tours to view early 20th-century residential architecture in an established, upscale setting.
Getting There
From downtown Toronto, take the Line 1 subway north to Rosedale Station, which takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Traveling by car or taxi from the city centre takes roughly 10 to 20 minutes depending on traffic.
Recommended Visit Duration
Allow 1 to 2 hours to stroll through the streets and view the historic homes.
When to Visit
Daylight hours are ideal for walking and viewing the properties. Spring and autumn offer comfortable walking temperatures, with fall foliage lining the avenues. Because it is a residential neighbourhood, it does not get crowded with tourists.
