Uppsala Botanical Garden
Uppsala Botanical Garden
Located near Uppsala Castle, this garden is managed by Uppsala University and was established in 1787 on land granted by King Gustav III. Visitors go here to see a diverse collection of plant species and to visit the on-site museum. It serves as both a scientific institution and a public space for observing botanical variety.
Getting There
The garden is situated within walking distance of the Uppsala city centre. Depending on your starting point downtown, the walk typically takes between 10 and 15 minutes.
Duration of Visit
Allow approximately 2 to 3 hours to walk through the grounds and explore the museum exhibits. Those interested in detailed botanical study may require more time.
When to Visit
The garden is best visited during the spring and summer months when the plant collections are in bloom. Morning visits are generally quieter. Like most public gardens, it can become crowded during peak summer weekends and public holidays.
