Lower Barrakka Gardens
Lower Barrakka Gardens
The Lower Barrakka Gardens is a public garden located in Valletta. It serves as a sister site to the Upper Barrakka Gardens and provides a space for walking and resting away from the main city streets.
Getting There
The gardens are located within the fortified city of Valletta. From the city centre, the site is accessible via a short walk. Depending on your starting point in the central district, it typically takes between 5 to 10 minutes to reach the entrance on foot.
Duration of Visit
Because of its size and nature as a leisure spot, most visitors spend approximately 30 to 60 minutes here. This allows enough time for a slow stroll through the grounds.
When to Visit
The gardens are suitable for visiting at any time of day. During the peak summer tourist season, the area can become crowded. Visiting during the early morning or late afternoon helps avoid the midday heat and the largest crowds.

The gardens are centrally located, making it easy to combine a visit with other nearby landmarks. Within a short walking distance, you can find:
- Church of the Jesuits (0.3km)
