Aníbal Pinto Square

Aníbal Pinto Square

Aníbal Pinto Square is a public plaza built on reclaimed land in Valparaíso. The center of the square features the Neptune Fountain, which was installed in 1892. Visitors go here to walk through the open space and view the surrounding city architecture and urban landscape.

Getting There

The square is located within the flat, commercial heart of the city center. If you are staying in the downtown area, it is accessible via a short walk of a few minutes. From other parts of the city, local buses and collective taxis provide frequent access to the central district.

Duration of Visit

Most visitors spend between 30 and 60 minutes here, as the primary activity is walking around the fountain and observing the surrounding streets.

When to Visit

The square is open to the public throughout the day. It can become crowded during weekday business hours and lunchtimes when local workers use the space. Visiting during the spring or autumn avoids the peak summer heat and winter rains.

Nearby Attractions

Because of its central location, the square is a convenient starting point to visit other historical sites within walking distance:

  • Iglesia Luterana (0.2km)
  • Palacio Ross (0.2km)
  • Iglesia Anglicana de San Pablo (0.3km)
