Getting there

From Piazza San Marco, it's roughly a 20-25 minute walk through Castello, or a short vaporetto ride to the Celestia or Ospedale stop followed by a few minutes on foot. There's no direct water-bus stop right at the door, so expect some walking through narrow calli either way.

Most visitors spend 30-45 minutes here, a bit longer if you linger in the cloister or read the chapel details closely.

When to go

Mornings are generally quieter. It rarely gets as crowded as the major sights near the Rialto or San Marco, making it a reasonable stop even in high season, though the surrounding streets can still fill up on weekends.
