This religious complex was established by the Ruthenian Orthodox Church and Lithuanian Grand Hetman Ostrogski to commemorate the victory at the Battle of Battle of Orsha. Currently managed by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the site allows visitors to observe the specific worship traditions and liturgical practices of this denomination.
