This lighthouse stands on Pelican Point, the sandy spit guarding Walvis Bay, and was built in 1932. Its 34-meter tower, painted in black-and-white stripes, offers sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Bird Island
Bird Island is a man-made platform in the sea between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund, serving as a breeding ground for birds. It has a unique history — the guano collected there has long been used as fertilizer.
