What It Is

The Suir is a 185-kilometer river crossing southeastern Ireland, passing through Waterford on its way to the Celtic Sea. Travellers visit to walk along the banks, view the open waterway, and enjoy the riverside scenery directly beside the town.

The river flows right along the edge of Waterford city centre. Reaching the riverfront takes a straightforward 5- to 10-minute walk from the central streets. For regional arrivals, Cork Airport (ORK) is the nearest major airport connection.
