Mactan ist eine Insel des philippinischen Archipels der Visayas und erstreckt sich östlich der langgestreckten Insel Cebu in der Straße von Cebu unmittelbar gegenüber der Stadt Cebu City und Mandaue City.

Basilica del Santo Niño

Die Basilica del Santo Niño in Cebu City (Philippinen) wurde an dem Ort gebaut, an dem 1565 die Holzfigur des Santo Niño gefunden wurde. Diese Figur wurde am 14. April 1521 von Ferdinand Magellan nach seiner Ankunft auf der Insel Cebu Hara Humamay, der Frau des Herrschers Raja Humabon, geschenkt, da sich das Paar und viele Untertanen taufen ließen. Fuerte de San Pedro

Fuerte de San Pedro ist eine alte militärische Festung auf den Philippinen, beim Pierareal von Cebu City am Plaza de Independencia National Park. Sie ist sehr gut erhalten und gehört zu den ältesten Kolonialbauten auf den Philippinen. Mit 22.025 Quadratmetern gehört sie zu den kleineren ehemaligen spanischen Festungen auf dem Archipel.

It comprises Olango island and 6 satellite islets namely: Caubian, Camungi, Caohagan, Gilutongan, Nalusuan, Pangan-an, and Sulpa.
