Tran Thi Ly Bridge

What it is

The Nguyễn Văn Trỗi–Trần Thị Lý Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the Hàn River, easy to spot for its single tilted pylon fanning out cables like a sail. It's a modern engineering landmark rather than a historic site, and it's best appreciated as a photo point and a piece of Đà Nẵng's contemporary skyline, especially when lit up after dark. Traffic crosses it, so viewing is mostly from riverside walkways and nearby vantage points rather than by lingering on the bridge itself.

Getting there

From central Đà Nẵng it's a short taxi or grab ride along the Hàn River, generally under 15 minutes depending on which side of the city you start from. The riverbanks on both sides are walkable if you're already nearby.

How long to stay

Most visitors spend 20-40 minutes taking photos from the riverside and crossing or viewing the bridge, longer if you plan to walk along the river afterward.

When to go

Evening is the main draw, once the bridge and pylon lighting come on and the heat of the day has eased. The riverside area can get busy with locals and visitors in the evening, particularly on weekends. Daytime visits are quieter but the structure is less visually striking without the lights.

Combine with

  • Dragon River Bridge (1.2km) — another river crossing worth seeing lit up in the evening
  • Zone 5 Military Museum (1.2km) — a change of pace nearby
  • Museum of Cham Sculpture (1.3km) — a short trip away for Cham artifacts and history
  • Tiên Sơn Bridge (1.8km) — a further riverside option if you're exploring on foot or by bike
