ドラゴン橋
Dragon River Bridge
The Dragon Bridge crosses the Hàn River in central Da Nang, built as a single steel arch shaped like a dragon along its full length. It is described as the world's largest dragon-shaped steel bridge, and most people come to see and photograph the structure itself rather than to use it as a river crossing.
Getting there
The bridge sits on the eastern edge of central Da Nang, a short distance from the main hotel strip along the river and beach. From most central accommodation it's a walk of 15-20 minutes or a taxi/ride-hail trip of about 5-10 minutes.
How much time to allow
Viewing the bridge from the riverbank or walking across it takes 20-30 minutes. If you plan to wait for an evening lighting or performance, allow closer to an hour, including time to find a spot along the river.
When to go
The bridge is lit up after dark, which is when most visitors choose to see it. It is known for fire- and water-breathing displays timed to weekend evenings, and both riverbanks get crowded around those times. For a quieter look at the structure, visit in daylight or on a weeknight.
Combine with
Several sights sit within easy walking distance:
- Museum of Cham Sculpture (0.5km)
- Da Nang Cathedral (0.7km)
- Roman Catholic Diocese of Đà Nẵng (0.7km)
- Tran Thi Ly Bridge (1.2km), another river crossing worth seeing for a different view of the Hàn River
