台北水道水源地
Museum of Drinking Water
台北水道水源地（たいほくすいどうすいげんち）は台湾台北市中正区にある日本統治時代に供用された取水場（水源地）と浄水場。現在は市政府直営の公館浄水場（こうかんじょうすいじょう）として運営されている。場内は博物館（自来水博物館）およびウォーターパーク（自来水園区）が併設され、台北市の市定古蹟にもなっている。戦前の水道町、現在の水源里や水源路の地名の由来でもある。
What it is
The Museum of Drinking Water occupies the historic Taipei Water Park in Zhongzheng District, on the site of Taipei's original water purification works. Exhibits cover the history of the city's water supply, and the surviving pump house and treatment buildings are worth seeing as pieces of early 20th-century industrial architecture, not just for the displays inside. It suits travellers interested in engineering history or old municipal infrastructure more than families looking for interactive science exhibits, though the grounds and waterworks structures have some appeal for children too.
Getting there
From central Taipei, the site is most easily reached by MRT to Gongguan Station followed by a short walk, or by taxi, which typically takes 15-20 minutes depending on traffic and starting point.
How much time to allow
Most visitors spend around one to two hours here, including time to walk through the outdoor grounds and pump house buildings in addition to the main exhibition space.
When to go
Because much of the site involves walking between outdoor buildings, an overcast morning or cooler part of the day is more comfortable than midday in summer heat. The museum is not typically among Taipei's most crowded attractions, so pressure on timing is lower than at major sightseeing spots.
Combine it with
- Taipei Cultural Mosque (0.8km) - close enough to pair as a short walk before or after.
- Daan Forest Park (2km) - a good option for unwinding outdoors afterward.
