カンナレージョ
Cannaregio
카나레조(Cannaregio)는 이탈리아 베네치아의 세스티에레 (구) 중 하나이다. 베네치아에서 두번째로 큰 세스티에레로, 2007년 기준으로 인구는 13,169명이다.
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is one of Venice's six historic sestieri, occupying the northern edge of the city along the lagoon. It's a residential district more than a monument-driven one: quiet canals, local bars, and everyday shops rather than souvenir stalls, which is the main draw for travellers who want a working Venetian neighborhood over the crowds around San Marco. The main thoroughfare, Strada Nova, is where most of the shopping and passing traffic concentrates, but the side canals stay noticeably calmer.
Getting there
Cannaregio borders the train station, so if you're arriving at Santa Lucia you're already at its edge. From central areas like San Marco, it's roughly a 20-25 minute walk, or a similar time by vaporetto along the Grand Canal.
Time to allow
A couple of hours covers a walk through the main streets and canals; a half day allows time to wander into the Ghetto and stop for food along the way.
When to go
Strada Nova gets busy in the middle of the day, especially near the station. Early morning or early evening is quieter and better for photos of the canals. The residential side streets rarely feel crowded even in high season.
Combine it with
- The Venetian Ghetto (0.1km) — right within the sestiere, worth pairing with any Cannaregio walk.
- Madonna dell'Orto (0.4km) — a short walk further north.
- Fondaco dei Turchi (0.5km) and Ca' Vendramin Calergi (0.5km) — both an easy add-on along or near the Grand Canal.
