リード・ディ・ヴェネツィア は、イタリア北東部ヴェネツィアの南に浮かぶ細長い島である。リード島、リド島とも言う。ヴェネツィアの潟とアドリア海を隔てている。ヴェネツィア市（コムーネ）の一部である。
Lido di Venezia
The Lido is a long, narrow barrier island separating the Venetian Lagoon from the Adriatic Sea. Unlike central Venice, it has streets, cars, and beaches, which makes it a good place to walk or cycle rather than navigate canals and bridges on foot. Most travellers come for the beach, for a change of pace from the old city, or because they're attending the Venice Film Festival, held here in late August/early September.
Getting there
There's no bridge to the historic centre, so you go by vaporetto (public waterbus). Lines run from San Marco and other central stops directly to the Lido, with the crossing taking roughly 15-20 minutes depending on the departure point.
How much time to allow
A half day covers a walk or bike ride and some beach time. A full day makes sense if you plan to swim, rent a sunbed, or explore both the lagoon and seaward sides of the island.
When to go
- Beaches and vaporetti get crowded on summer weekends and especially during the Film Festival, when accommodation and transport are busier than usual.
- Spring and autumn are quieter and better suited to cycling or walking the length of the island.
- Outside summer, the beach areas can feel empty and some services scale back.
Combine it with
The Lido sits within reach of several lagoon islands by vaporetto: San Lazzaro degli Armeni (3.3km), Il Redentore (4.8km), Giudecca (4.9km), and San Giorgio Maggiore (5km). These can be strung together in one day if you're island-hopping rather than spending the whole time on the beach.
