El Agami District
Located approximately 20 kilometers west of Alexandria's city center, El Agami is a coastal district used as a residential and vacation area. Travelers visit this area to experience a different side of the city, as it is a popular destination for locals and visitors from Cairo seeking seaside access and local shopping streets.
Getting There
To reach the district from the city center, you can use a taxi or ride-sharing service. The journey typically takes between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the traffic conditions along the coastal road.
Duration of Visit
Depending on your interest in the local streets and beachfront, allow half a day to explore the area. This provides enough time to walk through the shopping districts and observe the local atmosphere.
When to Visit
The area is most active during the summer months when domestic tourism peaks. Because of this, it becomes very crowded during the peak season. Visiting during the shoulder seasons or on weekdays can avoid the heaviest crowds.
