Raghadan Palace

Raghadan Palace is the first structure built in Amman by the Hashemite royal family, commissioned by King Abdullah I. Visitors go here to see the architectural origins of the Jordanian monarchy and learn about the history of the royal family within the city.

Getting There

The palace is located within the city of Amman. From the city centre, it is accessible via a short taxi ride or a walk, typically taking about 10 to 15 minutes depending on the exact starting point.

Visit Duration

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to view the site and its surroundings.

When to Visit

The palace is best visited during the cooler months of spring or autumn to avoid the peak summer heat. Like many central landmarks in Amman, it can become crowded during national holidays or weekends.

Nearby Attractions

Because of its central location, the palace can be combined with several historical sites within walking distance:

  • Roman Theatre of Amman (1.1km)
  • Jordan Folklore Museum (1.1km)
  • Roman Baths, Amman (1.2km)
  • Temple of Hercules (1.4km)
