Overview

The Turkmen National Theatre of Youth Alp Arslan, known as the Youth Theatre until 2015, is a performing arts venue situated on Archabil Avenue in Ashgabat. Visitors go to attend plays and musical performances that showcase Turkmenistan's theatrical traditions, acting styles, and stage productions.

Getting There

The theatre sits along Archabil Avenue south of the city centre. A taxi or bus ride from central Ashgabat takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Planning Your Time

Allow 2 to 3 hours if attending a performance. If you are only viewing the building exterior from the avenue, 20 to 30 minutes is sufficient.

When to Visit

Productions typically occur in the evening. For travel to Ashgabat, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer milder temperatures. The venue becomes busy around showtimes as audiences arrive, but is otherwise quiet during daytime hours.
