Bali Bird Park is a walk-through aviary in Gianyar Regency holding more than 1,300 birds from over 250 species, many of them grouped by region (Indonesian, African, South American, and Australian sections among others). It suits travelers who want to see a wide range of tropical and exotic birds up close in planted, walk-in enclosures rather than from behind glass or wire, including species native to Indonesia that are hard to spot in the wild.
Getting there
The park sits inland in Gianyar, roughly 45–60 minutes by car from central Ubud or the southern beach areas around Seminyak and Kuta, depending on traffic. Most visitors arrive by private car, taxi, or a pre-booked driver, as it's not well served by public transport.
Time to allow
Plan for about 2 to 3 hours to walk through the aviaries at a relaxed pace, including time for any scheduled bird shows or feeding sessions.
When to go
Go in the morning, when temperatures are cooler and the birds tend to be more active and vocal. The park can feel crowded around midday when tour groups arrive in waves, so an early visit makes for easier viewing and photos.
