Tribhuvan Sadan

Tribhuvan Sadan is a historic building located within the grounds of the Narayanhiti Palace complex. It originally served as the residence for King Tribhuvan and his family. The site is historically significant as the location of the 2001 Nepalese royal massacre. While the original structure was demolished, restoration efforts are currently underway to preserve the site's history.

Getting There

The site is located in the central area of Kathmandu. From the city center, it is accessible via short taxi rides or local transport. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey typically takes between 10 to 20 minutes.

Visitors should allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to explore the site and the surrounding palace grounds.

When to Visit

The site is open during daylight hours. To avoid the largest crowds, visiting during weekday mornings is recommended. The best seasons for visiting are spring and autumn, when the weather is mild and visibility is clear.
