Tarxien Temples

This site is a megalithic temple complex dating back to approximately 3250 BC. It is one of the oldest stone structures in the Mediterranean, providing physical evidence of prehistoric civilization through its stone carvings and architectural layout. Travelers visit this site to study early human engineering and religious practices.

Getting There

The complex is located in the southern region of Malta. From the center of Valletta, you can reach the site via public bus or taxi. The journey typically takes 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

When to Visit

Visiting during the early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat, as much of the site is outdoors. The site can get crowded during the peak summer tourist season. Visiting during the shoulder seasons of spring or autumn provides more moderate weather.
