Skorba Temples

Located in the Żebbiegħ area of Birkirkara, these megalithic ruins represent the early stages of Malta's Neolithic culture. Visitors go here to see some of the oldest free-standing stone structures on the island. The site is part of a UNESCO World Heritage designation shared with other megalithic complexes across Malta.

Getting There

The site is accessible from the center of Birkirkara via local bus routes or by taxi. The journey typically takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Visit Duration

Most visitors spend approximately 1 to 2 hours exploring the ruins and reading the informational signage on site.

When to Visit

The site is outdoors and exposed to the elements. Visiting during the spring or autumn avoids the peak summer heat. Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the strongest sunlight. It generally does not experience the same level of crowding as the larger temple complexes on the island.
