Tok-i-Sarrafon

This 16th-century vaulted bazaar was originally built during the Shaybanid dynasty as a center for money changers. Today, it serves as a covered market where visitors can observe the traditional architectural style of Bukhara's trading domes and browse local crafts. It is recognized as a national cultural heritage site.

Getting There

The bazaar is located within the historic center of Bukhara. Most travelers reach it on foot from the main tourist hubs. Depending on your starting point in the city center, the walk typically takes between 10 and 20 minutes.

Duration of Visit

A visit to the dome and the immediate surrounding stalls generally requires 30 to 60 minutes.

When to Visit

The area is most active during the day when vendors are present. Like other central sites in Bukhara, it can get crowded during the peak tourist seasons of spring and autumn. To avoid the largest crowds, arriving in the early morning is recommended.
