Ērgļu klintis is a sandstone cliff formation located along the Gauja River valley near Cēsis. Visitors go here to walk the riverside trails, observe the geological layers of the cliffs, and photograph the river landscape.

Getting There

The cliffs are located outside the center of Cēsis. Access is typically by car or bicycle. The drive from the city center takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Allow 1 to 2 hours to walk along the riverbank, explore the cliff base, and take photographs.

When to Visit

The site is accessible year-round. Autumn is a common time for visitors due to the changing foliage in the Gauja valley. Morning or late afternoon light is generally better for viewing the cliff faces. The area can become crowded during summer weekends and public holidays.
