About Quespewara

Quespewara is an archaeological site located within the Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Park, situated 3 km north of central Cusco. Positioned at an altitude of 3,565 meters, the site consists of ancient ruins and provides a wide vantage point overlooking the Cusco valley.

Getting There

The site is located approximately 3 km from the city center. Visitors typically reach the area via taxi or local transport from central Cusco. The travel time is generally short, though it depends on traffic conditions within the city.

Depending on the pace of exploration and the amount of time spent observing the valley views, visitors should allow between 1 to 2 hours at the site.

When to Visit

Due to the high elevation, it is advisable to visit during the day when temperatures are higher. The region has distinct wet and dry seasons; the dry season generally offers clearer views of the landscape. Like other sites in the Sacsayhuamán park, it can experience periods of high visitor volume.
