Indian Air Force Museum Palam
Overview
The Indian Air Force Museum Palam is India's only museum dedicated to military aviation. Located in Delhi near the international airport, it houses real aircraft and scale models tracing aviation history since 1932. Visitors can view decommissioned planes built in the United Kingdom, France, and the United States, alongside historic uniforms and equipment.
Getting There
The site is situated roughly 15 to 20 kilometres southwest of central Delhi. A taxi or rideshare from Connaught Place takes 45 to 75 minutes depending on traffic. You can also take the Delhi Metro toward the airport area and cover the remaining distance by auto-rickshaw.

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours to tour both the indoor galleries and the outdoor aircraft yard.
When to Visit
Because major exhibits sit in open-air hangars, the cooler months from October to March provide the most comfortable experience. Arrive early in the day to avoid midday heat. Weekends tend to be busier with local visitors, while weekdays are typically quieter.
