Kalkaji Mandir

Located atop Suryakuta Hill in southern Delhi, this Hindu temple is dedicated to the goddess Kali. It is one of the oldest temples in the city and serves as an active site of worship for a large number of devotees.

Getting There

The temple is situated in the southern part of the city. From central Delhi's city centre, you can reach the site via the Delhi Metro or by taxi. Depending on the traffic and your starting point, the journey typically takes between 30 to 60 minutes.

Visit Duration

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to navigate the temple complex and observe the rituals. The time required may increase if there are long queues for the inner sanctum.

When to Visit

The site gets very crowded during festivals and on Tuesdays and Saturdays. To avoid the largest crowds, visit on weekdays. Early morning is generally quieter than the evening hours when more worshippers gather.
