Humayun's Tomb
Humayun's Tomb
This site is the final resting place of the Mughal emperor Humayun. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and serves as India's first garden tomb. Visitors go here to see the early Mughal architectural style, which later influenced the design of the Taj Mahal.
Getting There
From central Delhi, the site is accessible via taxi, ride-sharing apps, or the Delhi Metro. Depending on the starting point in the city centre and current traffic conditions, the journey typically takes between 20 and 40 minutes.
Duration of Visit
Allow approximately 2 to 3 hours to walk through the gardens and explore the main tomb and surrounding pavilions.
When to Visit
The site is outdoors, so visiting during the cooler months from November to February is recommended to avoid extreme heat. Early morning or late afternoon provides softer light for viewing the stone structures. The grounds can get crowded, particularly on weekends and public holidays.
