This is a 176-acre national zoo located in New Delhi. Visitors go here to see a wide variety of animal species within spacious grounds that allow for walking and observation.
Getting There
The zoo is located centrally within New Delhi. From the city centre, it is accessible via taxi, auto-rickshaw, or the Delhi Metro. Depending on your starting point in the city centre and current traffic conditions, the journey typically takes between 20 and 40 minutes.
Time Allocation
Due to the size of the grounds, visitors should allow at least 3 to 5 hours to walk through the exhibits and view the animals without rushing.
When to Visit
The park is an outdoor attraction, so it is most comfortable during the cooler months from October to March. It can become very crowded on weekends and public holidays. Arriving early in the morning is generally recommended to avoid peak crowds and heat.
