Bangladesh National Zoo
Bangladesh National Zoo
Located in the Mirpur area of Dhaka, this is the primary zoological garden in the country. Visitors go here to see a collection of native Bangladeshi wildlife and various exotic animal species in a large outdoor setting.
Getting There
The zoo is situated in the northwestern part of the city. From Dhaka city centre, you can reach the site via rickshaw, ride-sharing services, or local buses. Depending on the current traffic conditions in Dhaka, the journey typically takes between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.
Visit Duration
Due to the size of the grounds and the number of animal enclosures, visitors should allow approximately 3 to 5 hours to walk through the facility.
When to Visit
The site gets very crowded on weekends and public holidays. To avoid large crowds, visiting on a weekday is recommended. Arriving early in the morning is advisable to avoid the midday heat and to see the animals when they are more active.
