Tundzha River
The Tundzha is a river that flows through Bulgaria and Turkey before joining the Maritsa River. In Edirne, the riverbanks are developed for pedestrian use, providing a space for riverside walks along the water.
Getting There
The riverbanks are located within the central area of Edirne. Most visitors can reach the riverside on foot from the city center in under 10 minutes.
Duration of Visit
Depending on how far you walk along the banks, allow 30 to 60 minutes for a casual stroll.
When to Visit
The riverside is accessible throughout the year. Early morning or late afternoon is typically cooler for walking. Like most central public spaces in the city, it can become crowded during weekends and public holidays.
Nearby Attractions
Because of its central location, the river can be combined with visits to several historical sites within walking distance:
- Church of Sts. Constantine and Helen (0.3km)
- Mezit Bey Mosque (0.3km)
- Evliya Kasim Pasha Mosque (0.3km)
