Tengako
Tengako is a peninsula located at the northern tip of Fongafale Island in Funafuti. It serves as a land bridge connecting the main island to Amatuku Island. Visitors go here for walking and observing the quiet island scenery and coastal environment.
Getting There
The peninsula is located at the far north of the main settlement. From the center of Funafuti, you can reach it by walking or using local transport along the main road of Fongafale. The journey typically takes 20 to 30 minutes depending on the mode of transport.
Duration of Visit
Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk along the peninsula and explore the surrounding coastline. The pace is generally depends on how far you choose to walk toward the connection point with Amatuku.
When to Visit
Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat. The area does not typically experience large crowds, maintaining a quiet atmosphere throughout the year.
