Al-Azhar Mosque

Established in 970 under the Fatimid dynasty, this is the first mosque built in Cairo. It serves as both a place of worship and a center of Islamic learning. Travelers visit this site to see its historic architecture and to understand its role in the development of the city, which is often called the "City of a Thousand Minarets."
