Located near Hatsukaichi, this 661-meter mountain is a site of spiritual significance for the Shingon Buddhist sect. Visitors go here to hike through a dense fir forest on walking trails where birdsong is a prominent feature of the environment.

Getting There

The mountain is situated outside the central Hiroshima city area. Travelers typically take a train or bus toward Hatsukaichi. Depending on the departure point in the city center and the mode of transport, the journey generally takes about one hour.

Time Allocation

Allow approximately three to five hours for a visit. This provides enough time to ascend the trails, explore the forest, and return to the base.

When to Visit

The mountain is accessible throughout the year, though the forest environment is most distinct during the spring and autumn. Morning visits are recommended to experience the wildlife and birdsong. It does not typically experience the same level of crowding as major urban landmarks in Hiroshima.
