What It Is

Daman-e-Koh is a terraced hilltop garden located in the Margalla Hills north of Islamabad. Positioned directly above the urban sector grid, it functions as a public viewpoint where visitors can look out over the capital's layout and surrounding landscape.

Getting There

The site is reached via a paved, winding mountain road ascending into the hills. From central areas such as the Blue Area or Sector F-6, the trip by taxi, ride-hailing app, or private car takes approximately 15 to 25 minutes under normal driving conditions.

Time to Spend

Allocate between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours. This allows sufficient time to stroll through the garden paths and take in the panoramic views from the viewing terraces.

When to Visit

Late afternoons offer clearer vistas and cooler temperatures as the sun sets over the valley. Evenings, weekends, and national holidays often draw large local crowds, leading to slow traffic along the access road and limited parking availability. Visiting on weekday mornings or early afternoons provides a far quieter experience.
