What It Is

Prevlaka Island is a small inhabited island in the Bay of Kotor, linked to the mainland by a narrow sandbar path. With a shoreline measuring just over 300 meters and around one hundred residents, it offers travellers a calm walking area with open views across the water.

Getting There

From central Kotor, driving or taking a taxi takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes heading toward Tivat. The sandbar road allows direct access on foot or by car without needing a ferry or boat.

Time to Allow

Plan for 45 to 60 minutes. Because the island is compact, walking the accessible paths along the shore takes minimal time.

When to Visit

Late spring through early autumn brings the most pleasant weather for walking. Morning or late afternoon visits help avoid midday heat. The area rarely feels crowded, though summer weekends see occasional local visitors.
