Local Transport Modes

Kyrenia is a compact coastal city where the choice of transport depends on whether you are staying in the harbor area or exploring the outskirts.

• Walking: The most efficient way to navigate the Old Harbour and the historic center. Most tourist sites are clustered together.
• Taxis: The primary choice for point-to-point travel, especially for trips to Bellapais Village or Kyrenia Castle. They win on speed and convenience but cost more than buses.
• Public Buses (Dolmuş): Useful for traveling between Kyrenia and Nicosia. These are cost-effective for long-distance regional travel but operate on less frequent schedules than urban transit.
