Taudaha Lake is a freshwater lake located on the southern outskirts of Kathmandu in Lalitpur. It provides an open natural space away from dense urban traffic, featuring a perimeter footpath where visitors can relax and observe fish and waterbirds.

Getting There

The lake is situated along the road heading south from the valley toward Dakshinkali. A taxi or local bus from central Kathmandu takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes, depending on local traffic.

Allow 45 minutes to 1 hour for your visit. This provides enough time to walk around the shoreline, view the wildlife, and take a short rest.

When to Visit

Early mornings and late afternoons offer the best conditions for seeing birds and avoiding midday heat. The lake attracts migratory waterfowl during the winter months. Saturdays and local holidays draw larger crowds of local residents, so visit on a weekday if you prefer a quieter environment.
