Klimonas Archaeological Site

Located near Ayios Tychonas, Klimonas is an archaeological site dating back to approximately 9000 BC. It is recognized as one of the earliest farming villages in the world. Visitors go here to see the remains of an early human settlement, specifically a circular underground structure measuring about 10 meters in diameter.

Getting There

The site is situated outside the center of Limassol. Access is best managed via rental car or taxi. The drive from the city center typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Visit Duration

Because the site is focused on a specific set of prehistoric remains, it is a relatively small area. Most visitors spend between 30 and 60 minutes exploring the ruins.

When to Visit

The site is outdoors and exposed to the elements. It is advisable to visit during the cooler months of spring or autumn to avoid the intense summer heat. Visiting in the early morning or late afternoon is recommended for more comfortable temperatures.
