La Ronde

La Ronde is an amusement park located on Saint Helen's Island in Montreal. Originally established for the 1967 World Expo, it is the largest amusement park in Quebec. Visitors go here for a variety of mechanical rides, including roller coasters and themed attractions.

Getting There

The park is accessible from the city centre via the Montreal Metro. Taking the Yellow Line to the Jean-Drapeau station is the most direct route. The journey typically takes about 15 to 20 minutes depending on your starting point in the downtown area.

Time Required

Because of the number of rides and the size of the grounds, visitors should allow a full day to explore the park. Depending on the length of the queues, spending 6 to 8 hours on-site is common.

When to Visit

The park is a seasonal attraction and is primarily open during the warmer months. It gets crowded during weekends, public holidays, and during the peak of the summer season. Arriving early in the day helps in managing wait times for the most popular rides.

Nearby Attractions

The park is situated within a cluster of points of interest on and around the island. You can combine a visit here with the following:

  • Saint Helen's Island (0.3km)
  • Montreal Clock Tower (1.4km)
  • Church of Saint-Pierre-Apôtre (1.5km)
  • Parc Jean-Drapeau (1.5km)
