Hypogeum of Ħal Saflieni
This site is a prehistoric underground structure carved into limestone, dating from approximately 3300–3000 BCE. It functioned first as a religious sanctuary and later as a necropolis. Visitors go here to see the only surviving prehistoric underground burial site of its kind, featuring chambers that mimic the architecture of above-ground megalithic temples.
