The Tatun Volcano Group is a volcanic complex located across Taipei and New Taipei City. Formed over millions of years, the area features dormant volcanic craters and geothermal activity, with the most recent eruption estimated to have occurred around 648 AD. Travelers visit this site to hike through volcanic landscapes and observe geological formations.

Getting There

The site is located north of the Taipei city center. Access typically involves taking the MRT to the nearest station and transferring to a local bus. The journey from the center generally takes between 45 and 90 minutes depending on the specific trailhead destination.
