Where to Stay in Pattaya for a Family Trip

Pattaya's beachfront runs north to south along Beach Road and Walking Street, with Sukhumvit Road as the inland artery. There is no metro, so choosing an area mainly means how close you are to the shared songthaew (baht bus) routes and how far from the nightlife strip.

Jomtien Beach

A longer, calmer beach south of Pratamnak Hill, with many condo-style stays with kitchens, good for longer family stays. It is a separate loop from Central/South Pattaya nightlife, linked by songthaews along Jomtien Beach Road and a short ride over the hill into town.

Pratamnak Hill

A quieter buffer between Jomtien and Central Pattaya. Smaller beaches like Cosy Beach are walkable, and it is a short songthaew or taxi into Central Pattaya shops without the nightlife.

North Pattaya

Near Central Festival and Central Pattaya Road, with easy access to malls, an aquarium, and family dining, plus a straightforward run down Beach Road. It is further from Walking Street than Central Pattaya itself.

Approach with Caution

Central and South Pattaya, near Walking Street, stay loud into early morning. Families wanting quiet nights do better a few streets inland or in the areas above.

• Check whether beach access means crossing Sukhumvit Road or a busy side street.
• Confirm a shallow or kids pool, and whether rooms offer connecting options or a sofa bed.
• Ask the distance to the nearest songthaew stop, the main way to reach Sanctuary of Truth, Nong Nooch, or the piers.
• From Suvarnabhumi, plan for a roughly two-hour road transfer and whether the property arranges one.

Timing and Availability

November to February is coolest and busiest, with school holidays tightening family rooms first. Songkran in April is similarly busy. Rainy season, roughly May to October, brings fewer crowds and more availability.
