Pattaya's luxury hotels cluster in a few pockets, depending on whether you want beach calm, hilltop seclusion, or nightlife on the doorstep.
Wong Amat and Naklua
At the bay's northern end, the beach is wider and cleaner, with upscale resorts and condo-hotels near Central Marina. Good for a quiet 5-star base, at the cost of a longer ride into central nightlife.
Pratumnak Hill
On the headland between Pattaya Beach and Jomtien, Pratumnak is hillier and greener, with boutique upscale hotels set back from the shore. Suits couples wanting privacy, with a short drive to both Pattaya's center and Jomtien.
Central Pattaya Beach Road
High-rise towers sit on the beach promenade near Walking Street. Most convenient for nightlife, but ask about noise, since some buildings sit close to bar streets.
Jomtien Beach
A longer, calmer beach with some 5-star resorts geared toward families and longer stays, further from Walking Street but an easy drive to central Pattaya.
Transport
Pattaya has no metro. Songthaews cover Sukhumvit and Beach Road; taxis and ride-hailing apps handle longer or late-night trips. From Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), the drive is roughly two hours; confirm whether a hotel offers its own transfer, since public transit from BKK is limited to shared vans and buses.
What to check before booking
- Whether "beachfront" means direct access or a resort across a public road
- Actual sea view versus partial or side view in the room shown
- Pool type, since some city-side properties have small rooftop pools rather than resort grounds
- Distance from Walking Street if quiet nights matter
When to visit
November to February is the cooler, busiest season; top rooms book out early around Christmas, New Year, and Chinese New Year. May to October brings lower demand and more choice, though short afternoon storms are common.

Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden, also called Nongnooch Pattaya Garden, is a 500-acre (2.0 km2) botanical garden and tourist attraction in Chonburi Province, Thailand. Located on Sukhumvit road, it can be reached via bus, taxi or private land transportation. It is also a major scientific center dedicated to cycads, with its own Cycad Gene Bank.

Ko Phai is the largest island in Mu Ko Phai (หมู่เกาะไผ่), a small uninhabited archipelago on the eastern seaboard of Thailand. It is about 21 km to the west of Pattaya. It is also known as "Koh Pai". It is also mentioned as "Bamboo Island", the meaning of its name in Thai, in tourist guides.
